China, through the words of its President, has decided to reduce the duties on clothing, accessories and furnishing accessories imported from Europe – and therefore also from our country.

Although at the moment the tariffs borne by EU manufacturers are between 15.7 and 19%, they will shortly be halved, thereby coming exactly into line with the rates imposed by Brussels on Chinese goods imported into the EU.

The objective is contained in two words: orderly trade, namely international trade based on rules that are the same for everyone, neat and tidy, without grey areas. And finally Beijing has decided to accept the requests of Altagamma, an association that brings together more than 100 specialities made in Italy, from 10 different industries, which has been asking for alignment with the duties imposed by the European Union since 2004.
